One of the best ways, maybe the best way, to make progress on your goals is to have a system of accountability in place. This could be things like working out with a partner, regularly updating family on your diet, or, like I’m doing, regularly posting updates online. The wider the audience, the more motivation you have to follow through! Today I’m posting an update on my 2018 Goals! 2018 Goals Update Career Purge devices, apps, and online accounts, including working towards inbox zero. Work ahead of schedule and write every day. *Update: Although I’m still not as far ahead as I’d like to be, I’mRead More →

Hello readers! Today, I’m trying something new and blazing a trail on Huntress At Home: a recipe. Upon adopting a plant-based lifestyle I’ve been obsessed with making vegan versions of my favorite foods. I’ve also been reading a lot about food photography, though I don’t claim to be an expert in that field just yet. Food blogging has never been as much my style as other forms of writing, but I wanted to give it a shot because, frankly, food is what I do best. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, so I spend copious amounts of my free time consuming health andRead More →

What is a war book, you may ask? Based off the movie “War Room,“ a war book is essentially a portable prayer closet. And, today, I’m excited to give you a peek into mine! In the movie, which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it, the main characters practice quiet time with God by returning daily to a closet they have set aside for prayer and reflection. Scriptures and handwritten prayers are posted on the walls. It’s called a war room, because prayer is our weapon against the enemy in spiritual warfare. Well. I don’t exactly have a leftover walk-in closet in my house toRead More →

So I’ve been spending January expanding on my goals for 2018 and I’m sharing tips and how-to’s with you guys along the way. Today, I’m excited to share my latest project with you, one that always helps me to better achieve my health goals. But first, I’ll share what those health goals are! My Health Goals For This Year 1. Exercise daily. No explanation needed here. I just need to get back to exercising, even if it’s just a little bit every day. Pregnancy has really put me back to square one; so far I’ve been spending no more than 5 minutes a day doingRead More →

I’m spending the month of January expanding on my goals for 2018. Today, I’m talking about my goals for my home and how I plan to get rid of clutter this year! You can check out my complete list of 33 goals on my post, New Year’s Goals For 2018. Yes, I realize 33 goals may be overkill, but I say… Goal hard or go home. *Slaps knee at how hilarious I think I am* 1. Organize & implement storage solutions throughout the house. So, I’ve gotten really tired of clutter under the kitchen sink, the top of the nursery dresser staying piled with diapers,Read More →

Dear SAHM, Do you feel alone a lot of the time? Do you have the urge to get out of the house, but opt to stay put because it’s just too difficult to get out with small children? Here’s one for you independent introverts (like myself): Do you feel like a nuisance constantly bugging your small collection of friends with play date proposals–sometimes at their house?? You’re in good company because I feel totally isolated a lot of the time. I tend to stay put when it would be better to get out because it is just so stressful to take a toddler ANYWHERE. I’m stillRead More →

Anyone who has been married longer than a week knows that marriage is hard work. It takes a lot of care and maintenance to keep all the aspects of this complex institution running smoothly. And sometimes, even with tremendous effort, things can be bumpy. Storms come, complacency sets in, temptations rise, and selfishness erodes. That’s why I try to set goals for my marriage every year. This June, my husband and I will have been married for 5 years. For some of you seasoned couples out there, 5 years is chump change! No argument there! Nevertheless, I’m proud to look back on 5 years andRead More →

Being a SAHM is priority number one. I consider mom-ing, cooking, cleaning, and holding down the fort my primary job. And honestly, I don’t have a choice–#momlife takes up almost ALL my time. Can I get a witness? Even though I wouldn’t have it any other way, I still like to have a work-from-home side hustle, a little something to give me goals and a purpose outside the routine of laundry and dishes. For me, this is Huntress At Home! I have other SAHM friends who do things like sell Usborne books, Mary Kay, or, alternatively, work a part time job outside the home. They,Read More →

The week after Christmas is my favorite time of year. I would almost venture to say it’s more exciting for me than Christmas itself. That’s because I spend the entire week making elaborate New Year’s goals and plans of action. In 2017, minimalism was my focus, and this year is only slightly different. You can check out what my minimalist goals were last year here. I didn’t accomplish as many things as I had hoped to in 2017 due to my year long battle with postpartum anxiety and depression, but I’m thankful to say these last few weeks have brought some much-needed relief. I don’t know ifRead More →

So, as a SAHM, I start my day pretty early. And unless I have plenty of activities or outings planned, it can drag on… and on. On a good day, Jonas and I have an outing or a playdate planned, spend some time outside, and nap time takes up at least an hour-and-a-half so I can get a few things done. But many days I’m stuck coming up with ways to keep him entertained. I’m also stuck with trying to find ways to keep myself from feeling isolated and bored with toddler activities. (I can only push cars around and drop blocks in a bucketRead More →
