Welcome to a new series on Huntress At Home! So far this year, I’ve done two series that centered around my mission statement for Huntress At Home: Harboring a Warm & Peaceful Home Understanding & facilitating how my children learn & grow, aka, Intentional Parenting (If you would like to read the entire mission statement for Huntress At Home, check it out HERE!) My third goal is all about being a change agent for your home. Or, as I have coined it within my H.U.N.T.E.R. acronym: Naming and addressing areas for growth and improvement in my home and family. What do I mean by that?Read More →

I spent the month of May talking about intentional parenting and how that’s taking shape in my home. In that same vein, I’m also currently at the NCHE Thrive Homeschool Conference, which I want to come back to. But I want to pivot for a moment to something I’m really excited about sharing with you this coming month. Whether it be character building, cleaning techniques, or the food we eat, I consider the constant improvement of my home one of my roles as a wife, mother and Christian woman. And this product is something that is really helping me do that in a unique andRead More →

This is the third installment in my series on Intentional Parenting. You can read about My Goals for 2019 here. So, I have a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics degree. I planned from the day I graduated on not only curating for myself the greatest diet ever, but also feeding my kids THE most optimal diet known to man. I just knew they would be the type to eat whatever I put in front of them. I would not have picky kids. I wouldn’t take no for an answer. And then I had said kids. And it all went to pot. Seriously, is there anythingRead More →

This is the second installment in my series on Intentional Parenting. You can read about My Goals for 2019 here. We have struggled with toddler tantrums and incessant whining for so long. So long that I don’t remember what life is without a background noise of ongoing lamentations and disaster. I literally cannot grasp the concept of there ever being a day again without it. We tried so many things to address the communication deficit. Jonas had speech therapy for a year. We disciplined, gave in, took away and pacified. And one day we realized we were at the end of our rope with a nooseRead More →

In honor of our upcoming trip to the homeschool conference, I decided to make this month all about my second goal for the year 2019: Intentional parenting. Or, more specifically: Goal #2: Understand and facilitate how my children learn and grow. (You can read more about My Goals for 2019 here.) Intentional parenting. What does that look like for you? Some days I feel like it’s this unattainable standard and other days I realize the fact that I’m involved with my kids at all (rather than farming them out to someone else) is a sign that I’m an intentional parent. This month I’ll be sharingRead More →

It’s been almost two weeks since I posted to social media or Huntress At Home. I’ve been thinking a lot lately, and I wanted to take a break from my normal tone and end January on a serious note. My unintentional time away started last week with the passing of the NY abortion law–the one allowing the murder of babies up until the day of birth. (Which isn’t new, by the way; that’s been around since Roe V Wade.) Everyone is talking about it right now. But that’s not what this post is about. It’s just that it took something evil to shake me awake.Read More →

This is the sixth installment in my series on how I’m Harboring a Warm & Peaceful Home as part of my goals for 2019. And how you can, too! You can read about My Goals for 2019 here. (They also happen to be the new mission statement for Huntress At Home.) Today, I’m talking about the last piece of the cleaning part of my Warm and Peaceful Home series! Zone cleaning. My Introduction To Zone Cleaning I first learned about the concept of zone cleaning from my all time favorite homemaker/motivator, The FlyLady. I remember reading her book, Sink Reflections, when I was maybe 12 years old, giveRead More →

This is the fifth installment in my series on how I’m Harboring a Warm & Peaceful Home as part of my goals for 2019. And how you can, too! You can read about My Goals for 2019 here. (They also happen to be the new mission statement for Huntress At Home.) Last week I talked about How to get your chores done strategically and have more time with family! That post covered a few easy things you can/should do as a bare minimum every day to keep your home under control. But I promised I would cover developing a weekly cleaning routine and the concept of zone cleaning!Read More →

I’m taking a break from my series on Harboring A Warm & Peaceful Home, because I wanted to share something a little different with you guys today. My makeup capsule for the month of January! Last week I shared My January Capsule Wardrobe with you. Everyone knows capsule wardrobes are all the rage right now! But have you heard of the concept of a makeup capsule? I hadn’t until a few weeks ago. The concept is the same with makeup as with clothes: choose a few foundational items (no pun intended) and add a few fun accents you can mix and match all month long!Read More →
